么这个节日又是怎么来的呢？

其实，早在1994年12月19日的第49届联合国大会上，根据联大第二委员会（经济和财政）的建议，通过了49/115号决议，从 1995年起把每年的6月17日定为“世界防治荒漠化与干旱日”，旨在进一步提高世界各国人民对防治荒漠化重要性的认识，唤起人们防治荒漠化的责任心和紧迫感。

此后，中国也在1996年成为了《联合国防治荒漠化公约》的缔约国，每年世界防治荒漠化和干旱日都会采取多种形式进行宣传。20多年来，中国在荒漠化治理的道路上勇于探索、积极行动，全国沙化土地面积由1996年年均扩展2460平方公里，转变为目前年均缩减1980平方公里，创造出可供各国借鉴的成功经验和治理模式，为世界荒漠化治理贡献了中国智慧。例如，现在大家在支付宝上的 蚂蚁森林，便是一个中国防治世界荒漠化的公益活动。
